Buyers are involved upstream of projects to bring their market knowledge (raw materials, manufacturing, services, etc.) and their expertise (competitive intelligence, anticipation of risks).

They develop relationships of trust with our suppliers and deploy purchasing and product supply processes in line with Solvay's responsibility commitments to sustainable development.

Buyer

Your missions:

Implement the Purchasing process within his/her allocated domain (industrial or functional site) while providing in-house opinion leaders with expertise, sense of service and knowledge of the products and suppliers available in the market.
Strive to obtain a balanced and effective relationship between quality, costs, delivery deadlines and safety.

Your academic background:

4/5 years in higher education with a sound scientific, technical or sales culture.
Post-graduate degree in purchasing.

Purchasing Project Manager

Your missions:

Manage improvement and productivity projects in different areas related to purchasing: purchasing, sourcing, logistics, environment, quality and maintenance. Examples: optimizing waste recycling in several factories, the overall cost of a flow of raw materials between several sites, etc.

Your academic background:

4/5 years in higher education, dual technical/purchasing skills.

Domain Manager

Your missions:

You are a recognized expert in a particular domain (raw materials, industrial plant, plant maintenance, transportation and logistics, etc.).
You coordinate and manage a team of buyers and prioritize high value-added activities and step-change projects. You initiate new purchasing practices and define the most profitable purchasing strategy for the benefit of in-house clients.

Your academic background:

Engineering school or university degree in chemistry and thesis.
