Who better than employees can talk of Solvay, in terms of own experience and in terms of sustainability in its wider scope, including the social sphere.

Sustainable dialogue

Solvay’s Management and workers representatives have an ongoing dialogue
on the Group's sustainability strategy. They co-signed a Charter on sustainable development and corporate social responsibility. The dialogue process associated to the “Solvay People Survey” allows in-depth discussions about social performance at the various levels of the organization.

The Group respects a number of rules in the framework of its corporate social responsibilities through:

  • Equal opportunities in the context of the workplace and the absence of any discrimination
  • Promotion of diversity as an ethical step forward and a real source of individual development. Cultural diversity is pointed at as well as the employability of disabled people.
  • Freedom to choose a job and prohibiting child labor or forced labor. Concerning the minimum age of recruiting, the Group respects, at the minimum, the provisions of the Convention of the International Labour Organization or legal existing requirements when they are stricter.
  • Social dialogue with employees and employees’ representatives in the framework of the freedom of association, the protection of the right of organization and collective bargaining
