Employees as actors of sustainability.

The involvement of each and every Solvay employee in the sustainable development strategy is essential.
The aim is for everyone to find its particular role in the company, both as a citizen and as an employee.

Sustainable Dialogue

Solvay exchanges with customers and employees, investors, suppliers and NGOs on sustainable development issues.
Solvay’s management and the European Works Council signed a Charter on sustainable development and corporate social responsibility.

Sustainable development Forums

Workers’ representatives and Solvay management have launched forums on sustainable development. These forums bring together employees from all levels of the company, and help raise the awareness on a variety of key issues.
They provide employees with information regarding global sustainable development initiatives.
They also enable the employees to create and implement practical ideas at each site.

Sustainable development training

Another main objective set by Solvay, is to provide all employees with the opportunity to learn about sustainable development.
Relevant training is widely incorporated within the Solvay Corporate University program.

The Solvay Corporate University aims at instilling a culture of sustainable development through various programs:

  • Induction / Orientation program (mandatory for all newly hired personnel)
  • International Management Seminar
  • Solvay Lecture Series
  • Management Development Series (mandatory for all new managers)
  • Action Learning (learning through business cases)

Cross-hierarchical forums on Sustainable development

Forums deployed with the personnel (since the launch of the European Group program in 2007).
