Public dialogue
In contact with governmental representatives, parliamentarians and public authorities, Solvay contributes to regulatory developments taking more account of society’s expectations.
The Group engages in a permanent dialogue and a long-term partnership with public authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
Solvay's Government and Public Affairs representatives undertake and coordinate the advocacy of the Group’s interests and long term vision towards public authorities within the highly regulated environment of the chemical industry, at international, regional and local levels.
The representatives take part in public decision-making according to the following principles:
- compliance with the Solvay group’s Values and Code of Conduct transparency in all activities undertaken
- a spirit of responsibility and professionalism
- political neutrality and courtesy
- rejection of any action aimed at evading the application of laws and regulations
