Solvay uses a number of methods, tools and processes to align its present and future activities with sustainability challenges and opportunities.
A range of tools to assess sustainability
- Sustainable Portfolio Management (SPM) and Sustainability Index (SI) are used to assess the sustainability of Solvay’s portfolio. SPM identifies to what extent a given product in a given application is aligned with the solutions that stakeholders and society expect.
- Solvay People Survey is a worldwide survey carried out to evaluate and improve the satisfaction and engagement of its personnel.
- Solvay Environmental Release Files (SERF) and BRC are the environmental reporting databases that are used to assess the progress and to benchmark manufacturing units.
- Societal rating agencies provide us with their feedback on what they expect from the Group in terms of extra-financial performance. By such dialogue, Solvay also reinforces its reputation.
- Opinion surveys are carried out in local communities to measure their perception in the Group’s performance regarding CSR practices at local level.
