Responsible Care 

The Responsible Care® policy is a key element in Solvay’s sustainability strategy and commits the Group to progress in health, safety and the environment.


Solvay embraced the goals of the chemical industry's voluntary Responsible Care® initiative and has applied its principles since 1992.
In 2007, Solvay signed the updated Responsible Care® Global Charter of the International Chamber of Chemical Associations (ICCA) and updated its own policy on health, safety and environment.

 
Solvay's Responsible Care® policy

Solvay is committed to:

  • Complying with all local, national and international regulations linked to health, safety and the environment.
  • Developing and supplying products / services that, throughout their lifecycle, involve minimum risk to human beings and the environment, while best meeting the needs of its customers.
  • Managing both its sites and the transport of its products in such a way as to avoid harm to communities and to its employees, and to minimize the impact of these activities on the environment.
  • Keeping all stakeholders informed of health, safety and environmental issues, and engaging in dialogue with them, in a spirit of openness and mutual respect.
  • Encouraging its joint-ventures, suppliers, contractors and customers to adopt a policy comparable to his in relation to health, safety and the environment.

  • Provide appropriate resources to effectively implement Responsible Care®
