Solvay is committed to fulfill REACH obligations for all its products and their applications through its activities of production, importation, marketing and use.


Solvay is responsible to prove that chemicals it manufactures and puts on the market in the European Union, do not adversely affect human health or the environment.

The Group is committed to fulfill REACH obligations for all its products and their applications through its activities, according to the REACH timeline.


REACH organization at Solvay

Solvay established a worldwide management process in order to fulfill its REACH obligations.
A Reach Operational Management team is in charge of the REACH implementation strategy, and a REACH Expert Group composed of experts, provide technical expertise. 


Solvay timetable 




2018      
Solvay will need register 175 substances by June 1, 2018

2013      Solvay will need register 70 substances by June 1, 2013

2010      by December 2010, 170 dossiers for 82 substances have been submitted to ECHA where Solvay is Lead Registrant (LR) for 39 substances.

2008      By December 1st, 2008, Solvay successfully pre-registered 666 dossiers representing a total of 400 substances.


REACH & GHS/CLP implementation

The planning of Solvay dossiers’ preparation for the second registration phase of REACH is on-going and on track. This second phase involves chemical substances produced or imported in quantities between 100 and 1 000 t/y. The planning is to submit before the registration deadline of May 31, 2013, around 60 dossiers covering about 56 substances.
