Chemicals Sector - Chemical industry

The chemical industry recognises the strengths of Solvay as a supplier. The company is a reliable producer of peroxides, chlorine, soda and fluorine chemicals – families of products which give rise to thousands of derivative chemicals.

Chemical building blocks
Solvay is a key player in the chemical industry. The company produces essential feedstock chemicals, many of which it also converts stage-by-stage into downstream products. Solvay is well-placed to supply other chemical companies with the feedstock ‘building blocks’ they need.

Additives and ancillaries

Solvay carries out extensive syntheses and conversion operations to produce derivatives in the form of solvents, additives, ancillary agents and other materials, such as fillers. These chemicals are used in plastics and rubber conversion, and in the formulation of paints, adhesives and lubricants.

Responsible Care

Solvay operates its manufacturing processes in line with the chemical industry Responsible Care® charter for safety, health and the environment.
