Road building
Road foundations made of aggregate materials are strengthened through the binding effect of calcium chloride. For non-asphalted roads, too, calcium chloride binds the road surface and thus greatly minimises dust raising problems.

Concrete and cement
Calcium chloride is added to the concrete mix to increase product strength, speed up the hardening process and make it possible to work at low temperatures. In the cement- making process calcium chloride allows oven temperatures to be reduced, thus saving energy.

Building coatings and protection
Fine calcium carbonate fillers are widely used in the manufacture of outdoor paints and coatings.

Insulated panels
Fluorinated gases are used as the insulating agent in rigid foam insulating panels. These insulating panels help reduce energy consumption and thus minimise carbon dioxide emissions.
