Solvay fluor chemicals are used in the manufacture of automotive heat exchangers and in air conditioning systems, whilst inorganic chemicals are used in car protection paints and fire extinguishers. These products thus enhance the safety, protection and comfort of automotive vehicles.

Inside the car
Sodium bicarbonate-based powder is a main component of car fire extinguishers.
Outside the car
Fine calcium carbonate fillers are used in the manufacture of protective paints, and in water-tight and corrosion-resistant mastics used to seal external accessories such as headlight components.
Car glass for windscreens and windows is made using Solvay soda products.
Under the hood
In the Nocolok® aluminium brazing (welding) technique, the fluor flux de-oxidises the metal surfaces and permits strong metal-to-metal adhesion. This low temperature process is now a preferred technique for the production of automotive heat exchangers, such as radiators, air-conditioning condensers and evaporators, oil coolers and air heaters.
Fluor gases are used in automotive air conditioning systems. |
