Phosphine is used in the electronics industry as a (n-type) dopant for various types of semiconductors (silicon, III-V compound semiconductor and TFT display manufacturing). CYPURE® high-purity cylinderized phosphine gas supports demanding applications where customers are manufacturing in cleanroom environments (e.g., FS 209E and ISO 14644-1) and to exacting standards of superior quality. Solvay is the leading player in cylinderized phosphine gas for electronic applications. Our products are used primarily in three applications:
- To manufacture LED lights
- For certain types of high-efficiency solar cells
- As a dopant for making semiconductors
We offer two grades of phosphine:
- CYPURE®, which boasts a purity level of 99.9997% (5N7)
- CYPURE® Ultra, which reaches 99.9999% (6N) purity
