Our Employee Resource Groups (ERG)
Our employees are at the heart of everything we do, which is why our Employee Resource Groups are key in fostering DEI across the Group. By and for employees with common backgrounds, interests or concerns, the ERGs build communities, inspire conversation, identify opportunities for improvement and drive innovation at grassroots level. They help Solvay flourish, so we can be the best we can be.
Each group is partnered with at least one Executive Sponsor who champions a bottom-up approach by establishing effective communications between ERGs and the Solvay leadership team.
The Solvay African American Employee Group wants to build a fully inclusive workforce for African American employees at Solvay and champion advancement for African American and marginalized groups in Solvay communities. Built on the pillars of Representation, Inclusion, and Community Engagement, they want to provide a safe space to mentor and grow leaders, promote accountability, and build networks to attract, develop, and retain employees.
Solvay X-Factor is driven by women who want to improve the culture of inclusion and diversity within Solvay by ensuring that the Group attracts, retains and enables women. This ERG provides opportunities for female talents to get full recognition through mentorship, networking, and professional development.
Solvay Young Professional Network is committed to connecting all generations of Solvay employees. Through Young Professionals events for all employees, this ERG wants to bring different generations together to promote understanding and mutual respect by challenging stereotypes, recognizing each other’s vital contributions, and ultimately learn and work together to strengthen community and create a sustainable work environment.
Nurturing our communities
As a global company, we have the responsibility to inspire and elevate the communities in which we operate. Through championing inclusiveness and diversity, and empowering our communities with knowledge and education, we want to foster positive change and build a responsible future.
Alquivia Jovem is a societal project started by Solvay that wants to enlarge the world perspectives of young children in our Brazil communities through cultural and scientific after-school activities. Available to boys and girls from low-income families, we want to reduce truancy, remove students from socially vulnerable situations and encourage them to take control of their own futures.
