About the role

  • Our Logistics department is focused on ensuring the highest standards for our products.
  • As a Site Logistics Planner will play a crucial role in supporting the Special Chem. GBU North America Hydrogen Fluoride business by planning the flow of raw materials and the associated logistics assets to ensure seamless operations across the multiple manufacturing and satellite locations. This role requires someone with a high level of attention to detail with a background in manufacturing or logistics operations.  Proficiency in ERP and Transportation Management Software (TMS), strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate and build consensus with cross-functional teams and a diverse range of stakeholders will be necessary for success in this role.
  • You will be accountable for:
    • Manage Logistics Flows: Track, trace, and schedule logistics between Solvay sites and third-party suppliers to ensure optimal material inventories, preventing stock-outs or surpluses.
    • Oversee Fleet Management: Monitor and manage the railcar and ISOtainer fleet, including dwell times, stranded cars, and issues, while serving as the Alorton contact for local railroad and intermodal points.
    • Coordinate Supplier Operations: Act as the main contact for day-to-day operations with third-party suppliers and logistics providers for inbound product flows, ensuring planning and scheduling meet supplier needs and resolving any logistics issues.
    • Manage System Processes and Training: Handle all system processes related to material flow and logistics assets (purchase orders, bills of lading, etc.), work with Supply Chain and Purchasing on SAP issues, and schedule training for suppliers and carriers.
    • Optimize and Improve: Coordinate equipment needs, serve as backup for the Production Manager in scheduling, maintain expense documentation, and recommend improvements for fleet optimization and process streamlining.
  • We offer a permanent contract based on onsite working mode.

 

About you

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, such as Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, or Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience related to logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Project and time management experience are a plus. 
  • Competencies:
    • Have in depth knowledge of statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques.
    • Solid understanding of data sources (ERP, TMS, Microsoft Suite) data organization and storage. Experience with SAP, OMP and Bourque Logistics Software is a plus.
    • Critical & Structural thinking, with an analytical mind, putting value in the core.

About the pay and benefits

  • Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the USA base pay reasonably expected for this role is $78,000/yr to $98,000/yr, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
