Job summary:
The ideal student is skilled in one or several of the areas of automation, robotics, mechatronics and software design to support applications and research laboratories in the development of innovative products.
By joining the Automation & Robotics (A&R) team, you will support the R&I laboratories to enhance research and innovation programs at Solvay’s Shanghai Technical Park. The goal of the A&R Lab is to transform the new product development by automation and/or artificial intelligence, to enable high throughput synthesis, analysis and performance evaluation of Solvay products and increase sales of innovative products etc.
Responsibility:
Build algorithm codes for open-source robotics (OSR) based setups, and movement
programming with 6-axis collaborative robotic arms, or x,y,z platforms. Prototype and design user-friendly tools for researchers.
Support to write Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and User Guides for the use of robotics systems in collaboration with researchers.
Contribute proactively to the global A&R network and build synergies.
Research, like Artificial Intelligence and Data Management teams, to ensure cross pollination of the knowledge and expertise.
Bring a strong commitment to safety through appropriate behavior, knowledge of chemical hazards.
Other tasks as Manager requires.
Experience and skills
BS or higher in Automation, Robotic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or Computer Programming.
Experience to create systems with multiple devices using Python and MATLAB with a User-friendly user interface (GUI) is a plus
Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, ROS etc.
Hands-on experience of collaborative robots operation is preferred.
Fundamental knowledge of IIoT.
