Radel® PPSU (polyphenylsulfone) is the highest performing specialty sulfone polymer in its class. Formulated with the most advanced creep rupture resistance capability and impact strength, this high-grade material provides plumbing systems with extreme durability and reliability. Radel® PPSU combines excellent chemical resistance and outstanding hydrolytic stability to retain its original properties even after prolonged exposure to high pressure and high-temperature environments. Solvay's Radel® PPSU is a tough thermoplastic that serves as a sustainable metal replacement for advanced plumbing systems to ensure ease of assembly, corrosion resistance and no contamination by heavy metal.
The resin durability and impressive longevity make Radel® PPSU a cost-competitive choice for metal insert moldings, welded and molded end caps, manifolds, boiler tanks, solar thermal tanks, faucet cartridges, flexible hoses and various valves. Additionally, the high heat resistance and hydrolytic stability of Radel® PPSU are suitable for hot water fittings in multilayer piping systems that operate under high pressure (up to 10 bar) and temperatures of up to 95°C.
Udel® PSU (polysulfone) is a transparent plastic with extremely high strength and outstanding heat resistance. As a rigid and semi-tough compound, it offers more hydrolytic stability than traditional sulfone polymers. In addition to its structural reliability, Udel® PSU is dimensionally stable and environmentally resistant to hot water and steam. When submerged in water, Udel® PSU ensures good creep resistance and low water uptake, which makes this specialty polymer the standard in hot chlorinated water environments.
Udel® PSU has successfully replaced brass in pressurized hot water applications for over 20 years. The specialty polymer’s ability to adapt to diverse heat and climate guarantees cost-effective material for systems that require continuous exposure to hot chlorinated water, including fitting bodies, manifolds, balancing valves and faucet cartridges.
Acudel® Modified PPSU (polyphenylsulfone) is a high-grade polymer that enhances the performance of plumbing systems with its inherent ability to maintain hydrolytic and dimensional stability. In addition to its exceptional toughness and high chemical resistance, Acudel® Modified PPSU’s proprietary formulation fills the cost-performance gap between PPSU and polysulfone (PSU). Additionally, Acudel® Modified PPSU's outstanding durability and high resistance to external conditions provide plumbing system components for less demanding pressure and temperature requirements.

Solef® PVDF is a fluorinated semi-crystalline thermoplastic that provides outstanding resistance to chemicals, UV light and fatigue. In addition to high-resistance, this high-performance specialty polymer also offers advanced barrier properties, such as scratch resistance. Solef® PVDF necessitates no extra additives because of its low values of leachables and extractables. This property makes its products inherently plasticizer-free and grants Solef® PVDF intrinsic stability when exposed to harsh environments. Formulated with outstanding chemical inertness to most chemicals, compounds and solvents, Solef® PVDF contains unparalleled durability and functions as a foundational polymer in sustainability.
Solef® PVDF's high long-term hydrostatic strength (LTHS) properties are well-suited for the high-pressure and extreme thermal environments found in multilayer piping systems. This high-performance polymer is widely utilized in critical systems that require extremely high purity, such as membranes for drinking water filtration, and plumbing. Additionally, the advanced properties of Solef® PVDF make it ideal for applications including fittings, sliding sleeves, manifolds, pipes, lining and coatings. As this multi-faceted polymer is resistant to bleach concentrations found in various sanitation devices, Solef® PVDF is an advantageous alternative for use in waste disposal systems.
Ryton® PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) is an ultra-resistant polymer that provides high chemical resistance, low viscosity and exceptional dimensional stability in water due to its low absorption rates. As a leader in internal cellular longevity, Ryton® PPS offers outstanding thermal stability and high chemical resistance when used in a wide variety of solvents and chemicals at elevated temperatures.
Ryton® PPS is equipped with advanced mechanical properties for use in injections into thin-walled parts in water meters, heat meters, pumps, manifolds, boiler components, various valves, faucet cartridges, solar thermal tanks and threaded fittings. Ryton® PPS’s remarkable dimensional stability provides complex parts with extremely tight tolerances in molding capabilities and maintains stability in harsh chemical environments and long-term temperatures of up to 200°C (392°F).
Amodel® PPA (polyphthalamide) is a high-performance aromatic polyamide that leads its competitors in higher strength and stiffness at elevated temperatures, better dimensional stability, and superior resistance to creep and fatigue. Amodel® PPA utilizes its low moisture absorption properties to maintain its initial strength and stiffness for use in humid environments such as plumbing systems.
With excellent temperature and humidity resistance, Amodel® PPA is ideal for systems with intermittent exposure to hot chlorinated water such as manifolds, pumps, water meters, balancing valves, faucet cartridges and threaded fittings.
Omnix® HPPA is a family of chemically resistant polyamides that bridge the cost-performance gap between lower performing PA66 and higher performing polyphthalamide, such as Amodel® PPA.
