Silicone rubber casting compound. Features and Benefits: RTV668 ia an easily pourable, room temperature vulcanizing general purpose castable silicone rubber. In its cured state it has high elongation, good tear strength and a high degree of dimensional stability at elevated temperature. It is ideal for the manufacture of rubber moulds and intensifiers. Intensifiers are shaped strips or blocks, applied locally to areas in composite lay-ups that have tight internal angles. They are intended to smooth out the rear contour of the lay-up to make bagging easier and to eliminate bridging. This improves consolidation and composite quality in difficult areas on a component. Maximum use temperature 250°C. Tensile strength 5.5 MPa after 18-20 hours of room temperature curing. Elongation at break 250%.
