Extending the Sustainable Performance Profile of PPA
We were the first to launch PPA 30 years ago and we continue to pioneer the sustainability focus of the industry today by introducing high-performance PPA with Renewable Content. Amodel® Bios PPA is our new partially bio-sourced long-chain PPA made from non-food competing biomass and produced using 100% renewable electricity. This sustainable combination means it has the lowest Global Warming Potential (GWP) of all PPA resins.
Amodel® Bios PPA is the perfect solution to reduce environmental impact without compromising on material performance. It has the highest Tg (135°C) among all bio-based PPAs plus very low moisture absorption, high elongation and weld line strength, excellent dimensional stability and chemical resistance. These features are further enhanced by a smooth surface finish and colorability.
Amodel® Bios PPA is available in structural, electrification and flame-resistant grades and is ideal for automotive and electronics industries, and in particular e-mobility and electrical applications like surface mount devices, connectors, circuit breakers, switches and fluid connectors.

Amodel® Bios AE for Electric Connectors and Systems
With a Tg of 135°C and a Tm of 315°C, Amodel® Bios AE grade is the perfect material for electrical components such as connectors used for Surface Mount Technology (SMT). Its low level of water absorption guarantees superior dimensional stability and reduced risk of corrosion, a key concern for connectors. Its higher impact resistance compared to standard PPA improves component reliability and lifetime.
Amodel® Bios HFFR for Electric Connectors and Systems
The absence of blistering makes Amodel® Bios HFFR suitable for reflow soldering processes. This new grade also successfully combines FR V0 UL94 with improved impact properties and high dimensional stability to enable the creation of safe, robust, long-lasting components.
Amodel® Bios AS for Fluid Connectors
Thanks to its Tg of 135°C, Amodel Bios AS is ideal for developing cooling circuit components in hot environments such as power electronics. A high level of dimensional stability and improved impact resistance vs standard PPA allows increased reliability and longer component lifetime.
