Filaments for 3D Printing

Solvay’s medical-grade AM filaments based Radel® PPSU and Ketaspire® PEEK filaments are ISO 10993 biocompatible.

Radel® PPSU filaments can be used to print translucent and sterilizable components that are suitable for patient and caregiver contact, such as face shield headbands, face mask aerators, valves, ventilator components, and bridging applications such as air dividers.

Solvay’s industrial AM filaments based on Radel® PPSU, KetaSpire® PEEK, and Solef® PVDF are suitable for rapid prototyping, demonstrators and bridging applications. When processed properly, they provide high thermo-mechanical properties, chemical resistance and excellent inter-layer fusion for good z-axis properties and low porosity.

In the current crisis, companies have begun to fabricate dividers so a ventilator can be shared by two or more patients simultaneously. Solvay’s Solef® PVDF AM filament is one material that could be used to 3D print this application.
