Building Blocks for Phosphine Ligands
Solvay produces primary and secondary alkyl phosphines. These building blocks can be modified by reacting their P-H bonds, resulting in new phosphine ligands with properties tailored to a particular catalytic transformation. Solvay works with our customers to adapt commercially available building blocks for specific industrial manufacturing processes.
CYTOP® 141 iso- Butylphosphine
CYTOP® 141 is a reducing agent that has been used as a highly hindered and electron-rich primary alkylphosphine for constructing selective and even P-chiral phosphine ligands.
CYTOP® 222 Di-2- norbornylphosphine
CYTOP® 222 is a strong reducing agent and is used as a chemical intermediate.
CYTOP® 241 di-isobutyl-phosphine
CYTOP® 241 is a strong reducing agent and is used as a chemical intermediate.
CYTOP® 242 di-tert-butylphosphine
CYTOP® 242 has been used to generate sterically hindered tertiary alkylphosphines which are, in turn, useful phosphine ligands for homogeneous catalysis.
