Curitiba, Brazil, 3 May 2019 --- Solvay’s joint venture with PQM (Produtos Químicos Makay), Peróxidos do Brasil, announces that it has obtained the environmental permit for the installation of a hydrogen peroxide industrial plant in Parque Industrial de Coronel, Chile, which will expand service mainly in the pulp and mining markets and the growing demand for aquaculture applications, an expanding segment in South America.

The hydrogen peroxide is an industrial product with great application in several markets, such as pulp and paper, mining and metallurgy, water and environmental treatment, agriculture, leather and furs, disinfection of food, aseptic beverages and packaging, plasticizers, personal and cosmetic products, soaps and detergents and textiles.

"This permit gives us the condition to develop the engineering project of the plant and subsequently to order the necessary equipment for the industrial operation," said Carlos Silveira, CEO of Peróxidos do Brasil. "For the construction of this unit, the company will use its own upgraded technology developed for myH2O2® plants, already applied in Brazil, which allows the production of up to 23 thousand tons per year of hydrogen peroxide."

The new plant will be built in the Coronel Industrial Park area, next to the large hydrogen peroxide distribution terminal that operates with product imported from the Brazilian unit of Peróxidos do Brasil installed in Curitiba. This terminal has recently received a new fleet of dedicated tank trucks to serve its customers and is currently undergoing paving works and duplication of the firefighting network.

"We have been permanently investing in our operations, always seeking to appropriately meet the demand and needs of our customers in the region, using all the know-how of our commercial and industrial teams linked to our products," said the CEO of Peróxidos do Brasil, Carlos Silveira.
