About the role

 

  • As a Mechanic, you will oversee integrity improvements at our Deer Park production facility. A multi-craft mechanic with a high level of expertise in repairing all types of rotating equipment.  The candidate will be part of the established maintenance department at the Solvay Deer Park facility, as it continues to support increasing product demands and needs for plant reliability. A successful candidate will have a high degree of initiative and ownership, taking pride in teamwork and improvement. 
  • You will be accountable for:
    • Overhauling failed rotating plant equipment in the field and at the shop, including agitators, pumps, blowers, and compressors.
    • Collaborating with the plant reliability engineer to diagnose equipment faults, increase up-time, and prevent rework.
    • Supporting OEM services on major equipment overhauls and being proactive in resolving or reporting issues.
    • Completing predictive and preventative maintenance tasks, providing input for work planning, and following written work scopes while adhering to Solvay life saving rules.
    • Providing feedback on work order status, supporting other crafts as required by the maintenance schedule, and sharing the emergency call-out schedule with other in-house mechanics.
  • We offer a permanent contract based on onsite working mode.

 

About you

 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 5+ years of maintenance related experience at a plant.
  • NCCER certification as a millwright, plus other crafts.
  • Competencies:
    • Knowledge and experience with rotating equipment, including alignments, preventative maintenance, assembly, and rebuilding various types of pumps, compressors, gearboxes, blowers, and motors.
    • Ability to read P&IDs and equipment diagrams, along with a general awareness of other maintenance disciplines like pipe fitting, rigging, masonry, fabrication, electrical, instrumentation, and machining.
    • General competency using a computer, with experience in SAP being a plus, and good knowledge of the English language (written and verbal).

About the pay and benefits

 

  • Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the USA base pay reasonably expected for this role is $30.00 to $52.00 per hour, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
