About the role
Our LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) & Biodiversity team, composed of 6 people, is integrated in the Sustainable Environment department and focuses on Environmental impact improvement in collaboration with the Global Business Units of the Solvay Group.
As a Life Cycle Assessment & Environment Expert, you will work on LCA and Environment projects to support our industrial sites and businesses. You will get the opportunity to contribute to improving the environmental footprint of our products and have a positive impact on businesses. You will be accountable for:
- Collect and analyze data on the environmental impacts of chemical products and processes
- Conduct LCAs using the methods already in place to assess environmental impacts along the value chain; Conduct and improve specific LCAs to address environmental impact. Identify further needs and improvements
- Develop and use LCA models to assess environmental impacts; Interpret the results of LCAs and communicate them to internal and External stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date on the latest LCA methods and standards, Collaborate with other departments to identify opportunities to improve the environmental performance of chemical products and processes and develop our own capabilities on Life Cycle assessment (Networking, relationship with reviewer...)
- Support Group industrial sites in their environmental projects
- Evaluate environmental risks of new industrial projects; Analyze the Environmental risks and data of the industrial operations in order to define improvements priorities
- Participate to the environmental corporate reporting
- Define and implement new tools for analysis and reporting of environmental data
We offer a permanent contract based on hybrid (2 days per week onsite) working mode.
About you
Master's degree in Chemistry or Process Engineering with a strong orientation to Environment. Relevant work experience in LCA or related field analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience in an environmental-related position is appreciated.
Competencies:
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and in French
- Strong mastery of software Simapro or equivalent
Behaviors:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of the chemical industry
About the pay
Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. The base pay reasonably expected for this role is € 82,000 - € 92,000 in Belgium.
Your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
