About the role

Our EMEA Regional Procurement team, composed of 27 people, is integrated in the Procurement department and focuses on tactical purchasing in accordance with the Solvay Procurement Governance.

As a Buyer you will report to the EMEA Regional Procurement Manager and you will work on the management of all sourcing & tactical purchasing activities of all goods and services required for the administrative sites in accordance with the Solvay Procurement Governance. You will get the opportunity to collaborate with the category managers to contribute to the elaboration of the categories strategies (eg. general expenses) and support the implementation at site level, as well as collaborate with relevant site operational stakeholders, by analyzing spend evolution and operational issues, actively supporting the development of spend optimization opportunities and driving operational improvements. You will also manage local supplier relationships and you will have a positive impact in the implementation, deployment and monitoring of procurement policies and processes.

 

You will be accountable for:  

  • Negotiating contracts with suppliers to obtain the best terms (price and payment terms)  

  • Managing Site contracts within authority limits, in coordination with the defined Category Strategies  

  • Executing spot (non-recurring) purchases for the Site within the agreed authority limit

  • Executing emergency purchases for the Site, upon approval, and implement Risk mitigation plan 

  • Supporting transversal initiatives aiming to optimize Spend and operational improvement initiatives for the Site

  • Participating in Procurement led networking sessions and strongly collaborate with other key stakeholders

  • Escalating process deviation and claims to the relevant management

  • Ensuring price updates and follow up in systems 

 

We offer a permanent contract based on hybrid working mode (2x a week if you're a candidate from the Lisbon area and 2 days a month from other regions of the country). 

 

About you 

Relevant education degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant work experience of at least two to three years in Procurement. Industrial experience is a plus.   

 

Competencies: 

  • Fluency in English, with French as a plus

  • Negotiations skills and analytical skills, as well as knowledge of country/regional regulations 

  • Experience in digital procurement (eg. ERP knowledge and Business Warehouse)

About the pay

Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. The base pay expected for this role is:

  • €33,000 - €40,000 per year in Portugal

Your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
