About the role  

Our Product Regulations and Stewardship team is integrated in the Industrial Function and focuses on providing expertise, support and services to the Global Business Units, ensuring safe use of products, anticipating upcoming regulations and societal needs, implementing sustainable solutions and applying social responsibility throughout the lifecycle of our products. 

As a Raw Materials Specialist, you will support Solvay businesses worldwide by ensuring that raw materials and products placed on the market are backed by reliable, compliant hazard and regulatory documentation. You will get the opportunity to contribute to the workers, customers, and environmental protection, as well as Solvay’s intellectual property. Through continuous improvement, you will have a positive impact on strengthening processes, enhance efficiency, and deliver high‑quality hazard communication in a cost‑effective manner.  

You will be accountable for: 

  • The day‑to‑day management of raw materials and purchased chemical records within SAP EHS and related tools

  • Ensure that documentation for all materials used across Solvay sites worldwide is accurate, compliant, and up to date

  • Act as the single point of contact for all Global Business Units, by maintaining and updating records, ensure that supplier Safety Data Sheets and required documents meet current regulatory requirements, and challenge suppliers when documentation is incomplete or non‑compliant

  • Establishing SAP EHS practices to manage information in a harmonized way across the company and serve as a key contact with the 3E regulatory provider, where regulatory information is also stored and maintained

  • Identify and follow the Substances of Concern that are present in the Raw Materials and ensure adequate communication according to the existing processes

  

We offer a permanent contract based on hybrid workind mode (2x a week at the office if you're from the Lisbon area or 2 days a month if you're from other areas of the country). 

 

About you  

Relevant education degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. Relevant work experince with SAP EHS and familiarity with GHS (Globally Harmonized System) and experience with SAP EHS.

 

Competencies: 

    • Analytical thinking: experience in data extraction, query development, as well as in the data analysis, preferably within a safety or compliance-focused environment
    • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights and present data findings to a diverse audience
    • Project management skills

About the pay

Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. The base pay expected for this role is:

  • €32,480 - €40,000 per year in Portugal

Your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
