Cytec Completes Phosphine Chemicals Manufacturing Expansion

October 1, 2014 – Woodland Park, NJ - Cytec Industries Inc. (CYT) is pleased to announce the mechanical completion of the Welland manufacturing plant located in Niagara Falls, Canada.  This facility will double Cytec’s phosphine and phosphine derivative manufacturing capacity making it the largest and most technologically advanced phosphine plant in the world.“Cytec is the global leader in the research and manufacture of industrial scale phosphine derivatives.  The added capacity will enable us to meet the growing needs in our current markets including electronics, mineral processing, solvent extraction, pharmaceutical intermediates, industrial catalysts, biocides, and agricultural fumigation.  The asset will also allow us to leverage growth opportunities in additional highly attractive market segments we are pursuing today and in the future,” said Michael Radossich, President of Cytec Specialty Chemicals.Shane Fleming, Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer said, “Cytec is proud to manufacture the highest quality of phosphine technology and this expansion ensures improved supply security to our customers.  This significant investment further shows our commitment to the growth of Cytec.”The new facility is currently progressing through a disciplined start-up process to produce material for product qualification.Corporate ProfileCytec’s vision is to deliver specialty material and chemical technologies beyond our customers’ imagination.
