Paris, 26th September 2017 --- Solvay Energy Services (SES), working since 2012 on the purchase and aggregation of electricity produced with renewable energies, expands its offer to the sale of renewable electricity. To develop this new offer SES and Orygeen, service company in energy performance for businesses, announce their partnership.
Solvay Energy Services – Orygeen: an innovative tandem
SES and Orygeen partnered to offer a new solution for businesses: Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). PPAs are long-term purchasing contrats of wind or solar renewable energy, signed directly between a consumer and an energy producer.
«Thanks to this collaboration, Orygeen is going to complete the levers available to French and European companies for reaching their CO2 emission goals and controling their energy spend on the long term. In France, the current energy market gathers all the necessary conditions for the emergence of PPAs. It is a type of contract that has been growing rapidly in in the United States for the last 4 years.» explains Jean-Pierre Riche, CEO of Orygeen. «PPAs are a complement to the autoconsumption solutions of on-site produced solar energy that we have been developing for months with several customers».
This type of commitment allows the implementation of new projects for renewable energy production or the extension of production life of existing assets. PPAs increase the share of renewable energy in the company’s energy mix and give access to a competitive source of energy with a fixed price on the long term (10 to 20 years).
«We want to support our customers in the management of their energy sourcing as well as in the implementation of their commitments to energy transition. Solvay Energy Services is a committed player in the sustainable development world. Our companymakes the most of its industrial and commercial experience to offer to our customers a competitive access to renewable energies» comments Pascal Chalvon Demersay, President of Solvay Energy Services. «This approach is also part of the Solvay group’s commitment to fight climate change».Solvay Energy Services, built around Solvay Group’s expertise in energy and CO2 management for its industrial sites, has more than 15 years of experience in the European energy markets. They provide energy supply and offtake strategies tailored to their client’s needs to make their business more competitive and profitable. A pioneer in sustainable development, Solvay Energy Services manages 1 billion euros of purchases and offers renewable energy producers effective and profitable solutions to enhance the value of their production.
