LYON, France - SHANGHAI, China - November 17, 2015
Solvay celebrates today, the opening of a new state-of-the-art facility to manufacture vanillin in Zhenjiang’s City, in China Jiangsu Province. Boosting its production capacities by 40%, this decision to establish a foothold in China was taken in the first place to meet the fast-growing Asian market and thus enables the Group to reinforce its leading position in China and Asia.
Solvay Aroma Performance is the world’s biggest producer of vanillin with historical facilities in Baton Rouge in the United States and Saint-Fons in France. Adding the new plant in Zhenjiang, the company increases significantly its production capacity in vanillin and provides an efficient response to the expanding demand for vanillin in Asia.
Thanks to this new unit operating since July 2015 Solvay Aroma Performance offers a unique, sustainable and global industrial fully integrated vanillin platform, spread over three continents, and controls the entire production chain, from making the raw material catechol to flagship end products like Rhovanil® vanillin. The creation of this network strengthened by fully equipped food application laboratories and food technologists together with a dedicated sales force cater for specific local demands serve clients worldwide with a complete product range to meet strict regulatory and customer safety requirement.
