Press release

Solvay is launching a brand new emulsifier range aiming at replacing classical cetyl-oleyl chemistry in Metal Working Fluid applications. The benefits of these new surfactants are a higher sustainability and enhanced performance:

  • Higher sustainability: the new emulsifiers provide formulations with a milder labeling for they don’t bear corrosive and dead fish labels. They are also based on globally available vegetable raw materials.
  • Enhanced performance: the new emulsifiers provide outstanding defoaming, as well as excellent low temperature stability.

The new Rhodasurf® LF5 is an emulsifier for cutting fluids and hot rolling fluids and is a sustainable alternative to cetyl-oleyl 5 EO. Our new range consists also of Rhodasurf® LF21, Rhodasurf® LF22, and Rhodasurf® LF3000.

For Further information about these products, don't hesitate to contact us or visit our booth #13 at 20th International Colloquium Tribology - TA Esslingen.
