Woodland Park, N.J., Oct. 10, 2016 --- Solvay, a leading global supplier of advanced mining chemical technologies, will be showcasing its mineral processing and metal extraction product portfolios at the 13th AusIMM Mill Operators' Conference in Perth, Western Australia. The conference provides the opportunity for plant operators, metallurgists, engineers and operational staff to learn, share and network with others in the minerals industry.

“Increased demand for optimal technical and environmental solutions is leading Solvay’s continued pursuit of groundbreaking technologies for our customers,” said Dolan Harvey Regional Sales Director for the Mineral Processing business line within Solvay’s Technology Solutions global business unit (GBU). “During AusIMM Solvay’s experts will lead a discussion on utilizing our AEROPHINE® 3418A promoter as a secondary collector to boost nickel recovery.” The presentation will take place on 10 October 2016 at 1:30pm as part of the Flotation conference track.

Solvay Technology Solutions’ advanced mining reagents include the ACORGA® and CYANEX® lines of solvent extractants, and the AEROPHINE® flotation collectors. AEROPHINE flotation collectors selectively recover targeted metals while maximizing recoveries and improving overall plant kinetics. Solvay’s ACORGA® oxime-based extractants are used in more than 50% of the copper produced globally using the solvent extraction-electrowinning process. CYANEX® organophosphinic extractants have become industry standard in the separation of cobalt from nickel, and have recently made their way into new hydrometallurgical applications such as rare earths, molybdenum and lithium. AEROPHINE flotation collectors are manufactured based on phosphine chemistry (PH3), making them unique among sulfide mineral flotation reagents.

Solvay’s Technology Solutions incorporates the Mining Solutions, Phosphine Specialties, Polymer Additives and Formulated Resins businesses of Cytec with Solvay’s phosphine and phosphorus business lines. The combination of these businesses affords an opportunity for each business to maintain its unique leadership role while creating a strong, synergistic organization built with a team of experienced professionals focused on customer collaboration and intelligent innovation.
