About the role

  • Our Maintenance team, composed of 7 people, is integrated in the Chicago Heights Silica site department and focuses on optimizing industrial process control systems in collaboration with production and maintenance teams.
  • As a Systems and Automation Engineer, you will work on designing, implementing, and optimizing control systems to support efficient and safe plant operations. You will get the opportunity to contribute to advanced digitalization efforts and have a positive impact on process performance and stability.
  • You will be accountable for:
    • Developing and implementing control systems for plant processes.
    • Improving the efficiency and reliability of production processes by optimizing existing control systems.
    • Identifying and resolving long-term issues related to process control systems.
    • Reporting on all Process Control Excellence projects' status and cost savings.
    • Researching and investigating new methodologies for advantageous applications..
  • We offer a permanent contract based on an on-site working mode featuring a 5x8 work schedule (Monday to Friday).

 

About you

  • Relevant education degree or equivalent in chemical or electrical engineering.
  • Relevant work experience of at least 5 years in a process or industrial/manufacturing plant.
  • Competencies:
    • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Emerson Distributed Control System (DeltaV) is required.
    • Expertise in process control systems and technologies, including PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems.
    • Experience with automation projects and the digitalization of AIT devices.
    • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and solve problems with innovative approaches.
  • Behaviors:
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with operators.
    • Innovative, highly motivated, and a hands-on self-starter.
    • Ability to find and develop process improvements and take ownership of plant projects.
    • Open to helping and willing to try new approaches to improve equipment reliability.

 

About the pay and benefits

  • Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the United States base pay reasonably expected for this role is $92,000 to $115,000, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
