About the role
Our Group Safety department, composed of 14 people, focuses on cultivating a robust, proactive safety culture and ensuring rigorous adherence to Solvay's Group Safety standards in collaboration with the GBU Industrial Director and European site operations teams.
As a Safety Manager Europe, you will work on a strategic safety partnership with the GBU Industrial Director, driving adherence to Group Safety standards and methodologies across European sites, and defining and establishing global best-in-class safety standards to support the GBU Peroxides in achieving the highest standards of safety and compliance. You will get the opportunity to contribute to the successful execution of the upgraded Safety Operating Model and the Safety Transformation program and have a positive impact on the GBU's overall safety performance and culture. We offer a permanent contract based on a hybrid work and travel (frequent travel within the EU, approximately 1 week per quarter per assigned site)
About you
Degree in Process Safety or Process Engineering with additional Safety education. Relevant work experience in Process Safety Management (PSM) within a manufacturing or chemical industry environment (10+ years) and implementing comprehensive PSM programs.
Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential. Proficiency in an additional EU language (e.g., German, French, Dutch) is required and 2 additional EU language is a plus (to be able to interact on the shop floor across EU)
Willingness to travel frequently within the EU (approximately 1 week per quarter per assigned site).

About the pay
Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. The base pay expected for this role is € 122,640 - € 153,300 per year in Belgium.
Your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
