About the role
Our Soda Ash & Derivatives North America Sales team, composed of 11 people, is integrated in the Commercial department and focuses on sales and relationship management of existing customers, prospecting for new customers, serving as the sales lead for assigned end-markets, and guiding junior sales colleagues in collaboration with Solvay's European counterparts and internal functions like technical, operations, supply chain, finance, credit, customer service, and Digital Technology (DT).
As a Senior Account Manager, you will work on serving as the primary customer relationship manager for global and regional key accounts, performing all elements of the sales cycle from prospecting to securing new accounts and analyzing growth and profitability potential at the customer level to support Solvay's commercial strategies and customer portfolio sustainability. You will get the opportunity to contribute to Solvay’s service and delivery model optimization and have a positive impact on the development and training of junior sales team members.
You will be accountable for:
Sales and relationship management of existing customers (approx. 65% of the role)
Serving as the sales lead to understand assigned end-markets (approx. 15% of the role)
Prospecting for new customers (approx. 10% of the role)
Sales projects & guiding junior sales colleagues (approx. 10% of the role)
Planning and leading contract negotiations of supply agreements
We offer a permanent contract based on hybrid working mode, with travel up to 50%.
About you
A Bachelor's degree is required and relevant work experience in commodity chemical sales or commercial experience (minimum 5-10 years).
Competencies:
Proven track record of successful sales, key account management, and client relationships
Fluency in Spanish and English
Strategic thinking and problem-solving
Behaviors:
Collaborates with functions and production to deliver the best service to customers with optimum profitability
Communicates effectively at many levels, both internally within NAM groups/European ones and externally with customers and their various functions
Constructive mindset, positive attitude, and persistence are required
About the pay
Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. The base pay expected for this role is $124,000 - $155,000 per year in the USA.
Your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
