Raw Material Produced in Paulínia, Rhodia's Green Site
Amni® is already born committed to the future of the planet. In Paulínia, where raw materials used in the production of textile yarns and fibers are manufactured, the company has achieved a 96% neutralization of its CO2 emissions, thanks to a series of initiatives and the installation of a greenhouse gas abatement unit, which removes a total of 5.3 million tons of CO2 equivalent from the atmosphere annually—the equivalent of taking an annual fleet of 1.3 million vehicles off the road. The company's goal is to achieve 100% CO2 neutralization by 2025. The Paulínia plant was also the first company in the chemical/textile sector in the country to achieve the Wildlife Habitat Council's Gold Certification for biodiversity, a renowned international organization focused on biodiversity conservation practices in the private sector.
Responsible Production in Santo André
In Santo André, the company's textile base, industrial facilities operate through closed-loop systems, where there is no water waste or effluent emissions outside the factory. Effluents are treated and recovered in special units for this operation. The company only purchases drinking water from the public supply to meet the needs of its employees, collaborators, and for the activities of the unit's cafeteria.
Over the years, Rhodia has also adopted other initiatives to enhance sustainability in Santo André. One of them was the installation of a chemical recycling unit for 'production leftovers' of textile polymers, which are recovered and returned to manufacturing lines to become new products.
Another circular economy-related initiative was the decision to remove logos from the packaging of yarn bobbins and cops sent to customers, allowing for their reuse multiple times.
Use
Rhodia's polyamide yarns are easy to wash and dry quickly without the need for a clothes dryer, even on rainy days. Additionally, polyamide clothing does not require ironing, reducing the use of electric irons by consumers.
High Durabiliy
Amni® has Rhodia's quality guarantee, providing durability to your garments, which always appear new even after numerous uses and washes. This means that a garment produced with Amni® yarn can be used, reused, donated, or sold for many years before being discarded.
Disposal
Recycling is still a challenge for the entire textile chain, but Rhodia has pioneeringly launched an upcycling program that enables the recycling of clothing produced with polyamide yarns, turning them into polymers used in automotive plastic parts. Our recycling plant has already been installed, and in partnership with start-ups and open innovation partners, we are advancing to promote textile recycling culture in Brazil.
