In finance, you’ll monitor the Group’s investments, optimize resources and ensure that our development plans are never compromised. In auditing, you’ll make recommendations on how to improve existing procedures and take part in merger and acquisition operations.

Internal Auditor
You have: Academic background in finance, management or auditing.
You will: Report on the quality of management processes and control procedures. Ensure that the Group meets its accounting standards, identify major risks and recommend ways to improve the reliability of the information we gather.

Site Controller
You have: Academic background in auditing and finance, Management or Auditing.
You will: Verify the economic data gathered from sites and use it to prepare forecasts. Provide the site’s management team with reliable and relevant economic information to support their decisions and, ultimately, improve our productivity and competitiveness.

Consolidator
You have: Academic background in business and qualification in finance, management or auditing.
You will: Draw up the Group’s financial statements in compliance with international accounting standards. Analyze and approve consolidated reports issued by legal departments.

Enterprise or Business Unit Management Controller
You have: Academic background in business and qualification in finance, management or auditing.
You will: Act as a financial partner to senior management teams. Analyze results, improve performance and coordinate forecasting efforts.

“This is a major move for finance”
The digitalization of services affects everyone at Solvay. In our Finance department, Gilles led the Controlling Platform project which leverages digital technologies for Solvay’s financial reports. “I’m here to make sure that the project objectives are shared and understood and that we have a solid plan to reach them,” he explains. “I connect with stakeholders, provide support and advice, and I’m directly involved in recruitment and dashboard design.”
The Controlling Platform project wasn’t easy to manage during the COVID pandemic, but Gilles and his team came through. “Most of us could only connect virtually and I’m amazed that we were able to achieve so much in such a challenging context. We really made a huge step forward in terms of digitalization and standardization of our processes,” he says.
As far as his own skills are concerned, Gilles says he strongly improved his capability to work with a team, brainstorm and innovate.
