A solid source of active oxygen 

IXPER® products, based on calcium peroxide and magnesium peroxides, provide the performance benefits of solid hydrogen peroxide. Its fine powder or granule texture gives it excellent intrinsic chemical and thermal stability with very low water solubility. At its natural pH level in the presence of water, IXPER® decomposes to release oxygen. As the pH drops, it becomes more soluble and generates progressively higher ratios of hydrogen peroxide (active oxygen) to gaseous oxygen. Under acidic conditions, the available oxygen can be liberated within minutes.

IXPER®’s characteristics ౼ in particular the ability to slowly release oxygen ౼ makes it suitable for use in a wide range of applications.

Soil Remediation and Groundwater Remediation

In bioremediation, inadequate levels of oxygen can limit the ability of aerobic microbes to biologically degrade contaminants, such as petroleum hydrocarbons. IXPER® products maintain adequate oxygen levels over an extended period of time. It is also used in the treatment of grease traps to reduce sulfide-based odors caused by anaerobic conditions and saponify and reduce levels of grease in traps.

IXPER® products can be used to oxygenate the lower parts of artificial or natural lakes, wastewater and effluent as well ౼ often more efficiently than other methods that require excessive agitation. The increased dissolved oxygen level and suppressed anaerobic conditions created with IXPER®, enhance the biodegradation of accumulated organic carbon nitrogen and phosphorus contaminants in the sediments, ensuring the control of water blooming.


Heavy rainfall or poor irrigation techniques can lower oxygen levels in soil, which can be challenging for crops growing at high temperatures that require high levels of oxygen. IXPER® products can be used for soil amendment in agricultural, horticultural and forestry applications. These products slowly decompose in the moist soil, generating oxygen and the corresponding hydroxide which acts as germination booster and improves plants’ ability to absorb more water and nutrients and use them more efficiently. IXPER® products can even be included in seed coating to improve performance.

In the US baking industry, IXPER® is sometimes used as a dough conditioner component. It oxidizes sulfhydryl groups in gluten and reforms the disulfide bonds that were broken during the mechanical mixing of the dough.  




Personal Care

In toothpaste formulations, IXPER® cleans teeth and improves oral hygiene. It can also be incorporated into hair bleaching formulations.

Chemical Industry

Due to its chemical characteristics, IXPER® products are widely used in chemical processes as an oxidising agent or source of oxygen.
