As part of our efforts to transition to green energy sources, Solvay signed our first European Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Falck Renewables S.p.A., in May 2021. Under this ten year agreement, Solvay will purchase electricity produced by a new solar farm located in the Italian region of Puglia. The solar farm will supply enough energy to cover 100% of the electricity needs of four of our six Italian sites, helping us to reduce our CO2 footprint by 15,000 tons every year.
