Solvay’s Santo André site, in Brazil, specilizes in the production of synthetic polyamide yarns, which are used in clothing and other applications, such as industrial fibers and yarns and engineering plastics. To reduce waste and boost circularity, the site developed a polymerization plant dedicated specifically to recycling waste produced in polymerization, spinning and texturing, using chemical or mechanical recycling techniques. The plant now produces 470 tons of recycled polymer per year.
