The textile sector faces three main sustainability challenges: resources; the production process; and disposal. Solvay has already developed sustainable alternatives for the production process, using cleaner energy sources, closed water circuits, and zero effluent emissions at our industrial unit in Brazil, as well as more biodegradable products for more sustainable disposal. In addition, in response to growing demand for more sustainable textile products, we have now developed Bio Amni®, our first partially bio-based polyamide textile yarn.

Bio Amni® guarantees freshness, safety, and breathability during daily activities, while being smooth to touch, easy to care for, and fast drying. Made from a renewable source, the material is also dyed at low temperatures, reducing energy use by up to 40%, providing a comfortable and sustainable option for everyday wear.

Bio Amni®

  • Sustainable textiles account for 30% of our global polyamide portfolio; we expect to reach 50% in the next three years

More than doubling the sales of products based on renewable or recycled resources to 15% of Group sales by 2030
