Woodland Park, N.J., Oct. 19, 2016--- Solvay, a leading global supplier of performance-enhancing plastic additive technologies, announced today at K 2016 (Hall 6, Booth C61) that the building and construction industry’s increasingly stringent performance demands on polyolefin parts used in outdoor applications is prompting new innovations in the company’s CYASORB CYNERGY SOLUTIONS®B Series stabilizers. Building and construction OEMs and suppliers favor polyolefins for their cost-effectiveness, global availability, versatility and sustainability.
“As polyolefins expand into new building and construction applications, they are increasingly exposed to a broader range of harsh conditions, which is creating tough challenges for Solvay customers who already face increasingly stringent regulatory requirements and narrower development windows,” said Andrea Landuzzi, Global Marketing Manager, Polymer Additives, for Solvay’s Technology Solutions Global Business Unit. “Our CYASORB CYNERGY SOLUTIONS®B Series stabilizers extend the performance of these already versatile thermoplastics and enable customers to advance their pursuit of breakthrough applications.”
CYASORB CYNERGY SOLUTIONS® B series stabilizers deliver exceptional long-term UV and thermal protection to polypropylene (PP) and polyolefin parts, with excellent surface protection and mechanical property retention under demanding conditions.
Solvay’s unique additives are suitable for use with neat and reinforced thermoplastics, and will not contribute to blooming or delamination in painted parts. Specific building and construction applications include roofing tiles and shakes, solar shingles, siding, shutters, roofing and geomembranes.
More details, including performance data, will be available at Solvay’s booth during K 2016, and will highlight how select CYASORB CYNERGY SOLUTIONS®B Series stabilizers exceeded performance standards.
