About the role
Our Government & Public Affairs team, composed of 10 people, reporting directly to Solvay‘s Chief Executive Officer focuses on shaping Solvay’s response to emerging policy trends through public outreach, stakeholder engagement, and influencing policy, in collaboration with the country directors, regulatory experts throughout Solvay as well as our global business units.
As a Manager Public Policy & Industrial Advocacy, you will work on coordinating aligned advocacy approaches and messaging on global and pan-European issues, ensuring thorough analysis of public policy developments, and developing advocacy strategies on key issues that impact Solvay's business operations to support Solvay's legislative and business priorities.
You will get the opportunity to contribute to Solvay's energy transition, climate change, and sustainable chemicals initiatives and have a positive impact on Solvay's voice being heard in the right forums and by the right audiences.
You will be accountable for:
Staying informed on relevant legislation, policies, research, and public issues that could impact Solvay, and analyzing their effects on Solvay’s objectives and strategy.
Creating and executing advocacy plans aligned with the organization’s mission and goals, targeting key stakeholders around competitiveness, energy and raw materials, industrial transformation, chemicals regulation, and trade.
Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials and industry leaders, and working with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging.
Designing and overseeing European and international advocacy campaigns that raise awareness about Solvay’s causes such as energy transition, climate change, and sustainable chemicals.
Coordinating and supporting the Country Director and site manager in Bulgaria regarding direct engagement with key policymakers at national and regional levels, by creating strategic advocacy plans for country-level issues and leveraging your in-country network.
We offer a permanent contract based on hybrid working mode.
About you
Bachelor’s degree required. Preference for Master’s degree or equivalent related experience, in lobbying, public affairs & public policy, Communications, Political Science, or a related field.
+7 years relevant work experience in developing and delivering effective advocacy materials and implementing advocacy strategies. Certification in public affairs, lobbying, or a similar field is a plus.
Competencies:
Strong understanding of policy processes and the ability to navigate legislative/regulatory environments, particularly at the EU level, and knowledge of the Bulgarian political system.
Ability to develop and implement advocacy strategies, proactively identifying risks and proposing solutions.
Outstanding communication ability to convey messages to policymakers, the media, and the public, with demonstrated fluency in English and Bulgarian.

About the pay and benefits
Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the Bulgaria base pay reasonably expected for this role is BGN 98,400,00 to BGN 123,000,00 your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
