Solvay donates face masks to protect LATAM customers and employees

With LATAM now the COVID-19 epicenter, Solvay’s Polymer Additives group is providing essential medical PPE.

Saddle Brook, N.J., June 9, 2020 – Solvay is providing face masks to employees and customers across Latin America to support the region hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic. The gesture reflects Solvay’s solidarity with its stakeholders as they seek to meet basic needs and mitigate the effects of COVID-19.

Fourteen customers in four countries and members of the Polymer Additives team have received masks from Solvay. Masks are in short supply across Latin America, a familiar situation elsewhere in the world. Solvay sourced the masks through its relationship with a strategic customer.

“It took a coordinated effort across our global teams to procure and deliver these much-needed masks,” expressed Ning Chen, vice president of Solvay’s Polymer Additives business, part of the Technology Solutions global business unit. “We stand by our employees and customers in good times and in challenging times, and hope the worst of the pandemic’s impact passes over Latin America quickly.”
