Materials and Corrosion Engineer (F/M/X)

About the role

  • Our Engineering team, composed of 15 people, is integrated in the Industrial department and focuses on Engineering and also on Materials and Corrosion, in collaboration with the GBUs (Global Business Units).
  • As a Materials and Corrosion Engineer, you will work on studies to investigate and document mechanisms of corrosion in the chemical units, in collaboration with the process engineers and maintenance engineers of the plant.
  • You will be accountable for:
    • Create a documentation system of the mechanisms of corrosions identified based on API 571 and following API 970 methodology
    • Update these documents
    • Participate to multidisciplinary meetings aiming to identify the corrosion mechanisms, propose field tests and laboratory test
    • Conduct laboratory tests in our Materials & corrosion laboratory
    • Preparation of laboratory and field tests. Failure analysis, material characterization and technical reporting.
    • Bring your corrosion and materials expertise to recommend solutions with immediate repair solutions and long-term guidelines based on investigations, tests and experiences feedback and coordinate with other parts if needed.
  • We offer a permanent contract based on hybrid working mode.

About you

  • University Degree in Materials Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in corrosion activities
  • Competencies:
    • Expertise in performing laboratory activities (pilot tests)
    • English advanced level
    • Knowledge and practice of the nor API 970 is a plus, not mandatory; the willingness to learn and apply is essential for the role.

About the pay and benefits

  • Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the Brazilian base pay reasonably expected for this role is R$ 114.000 to R$ 142.500 (with harzard pay and 13o salary included), your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
