Creative Content Designer (F/M/X)

About the role

  • Our Strategic Communications & Content Team, composed of 8 people, is integrated in the Communications department.

  • As a Creative Content Designer, you can conceptualize, design, and deliver visually compelling content that aligns with Solvay’s brand and business objectives. The candidate will create innovative designs for digital and print media, including websites, social media, campaigns, creating banners, infographics, video and other visual materials. You will work within the content team, being an active partner on translating ideas and important messages into visual, appealing concepts..

  • You will be accountable for: 

    • Concept development: Prepare and present (audio)visual concepts, drafts, and final ideas to stakeholders.

    • Design creation and optimisation: Develop and create original design concepts, graphics, and layouts for various projects. Revise and refine designs based on stakeholder feedback and project requirements. Create templates using programs the team can use independently as well as original graphic design/video creation.

    • Asset design: Design assets for websites, social media platforms, presentations, promotional and informational materials (like infographics, posters, teaser animated video’s, templates…).

    • Creative alignment: Collaborate with the content team and Business brand marketing/product teams to ensure alignment with company objectives. Also ensure all designs meet quality standards, brand guidelines, and project deadlines.

    • Innovative Creativity: Stay up-to-date with design trends, AI tools, and best practices to enhance creativity and efficiency.

    • Quality delivery: Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail, meeting project objectives and deadlines.

    • Asset management and image library: Selection of Shutterstock, Unsplash (free photos), to complete our image library, bi-roll maintenance. Basic principle: use copyright free imagery to avoid issues. 

    • Coordinate with external consultants on projects to guide creative design requirements.

  • We offer a permanent contract based on a hybrid (onsite and remote) working mode.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

  • Relevant work experience of a minimum of 3-5 years as a Creative Designer or in a similar design role.

    • Proficiency in design software and tools

      • Design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier Pro, After Effects, etc.) 

      • Knowledge of motion graphics and animation tools (e.g., After Effects).

      • Familiarity with UX/UI design principles and Canva and Google Slides / Microsoft Powerpoint in the future.

    • Strong portfolio showcasing, excellent creative thinking and the ability to conceptualise unique ideas into creative and innovative design work..

  • Competencies:

    • Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for detail, colour, and composition.

    • Strong understanding of branding, marketing, and visual storytelling techniques.

    • Excellent communication skills to present and articulate design concepts to stakeholders and embrace their feedback to constructively refine your designs.

    • Proven expertise in converting stakeholders’ requests and needs into visual storytelling concepts and assets to engage the different target audiences and support company goals.

    • The latest design trends, tools and technologies to enhance your skill set and develop evolving styles.

    • Strong adaptability and flexibility to effectively manage multiple design projects with changing priorities and deadlines in a dynamic, strongly matrixed environment, while maintaining attention to detail and meeting project objectives.

About the pay and benefits

  • Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the Portuguese base pay reasonably expected for this role is 32,480 EUR to 38,600 EUR, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
