About the role

  • Our Maintenance department, composed of approximately 50 people, is integrated with the Surface Operations and Utility teams.
  • As a Janitor, you are responsible for routinely cleaning office rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, change rooms, stairways and other work areas. You will get the opportunity to contribute to the growing Soda Ash family and have a positive impact on transformation journey of Solvay.
  • You will be accountable for:
    • Duties include cleaning office rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, change rooms, stairways and other work areas.
    • Must vacuum, sweep, scrub, wax and polish floors using brooms, mops and power cleaning appliances.
    • Transports trash to disposal area and empties trash into large central receptacle.
    • Duties also include replenishing restroom supplies as needed from storage inventory. Individual must also perform other work-related duties as assigned.  
  • We offer at-will employment based on site work.

 

About you

  • High school diploma or GED is required. 
  • External candidates for this position must have prior work experience as a Janitor/Custodian.
  • Prior experience of stripping and waxing floors, operation of auto scrubbers, square scrubs, swing machines and burnishers are preferred.
  • Competencies:
    • Ability to work with limited directions/supervision is essential
    • Must be able to lift, pull/push and carry equipment, tools and other objects weighing up to fifty pounds.

About the pay and benefits

  • Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the USA base pay reasonably expected for this role is $26.00/hr to $29.00/hr, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
