São Paulo, May 2, 2023 - Executive Daniela Manique, president of the Solvay Group in Latin America, has been elected president of the Board of Directors of Abiquim (Brazilian Chemical Industry Association) for the period from 2023 to 2025.
The election took place during the Ordinary and Extraordinary General Assembly of the entity held on April 26, which also elected the members who will compose the Board of Directors, the Fiscal Council, and part of the Ethics and Integrity Committee and the Executive Committee.
Daniela Manique is the first woman to hold this position in the history of Abiquim, which was established 60 years ago.
With a degree in Chemical Engineering from FEI (Faculty of Industrial Engineering), Daniela Manique has a postgraduate degree in Business Administration from FGV, an MBA in Business from the Faculty of Economics and Administration of USP (SP), and has completed the Strategy course at Insead, France. She is also a graduate in the Oil Industry field from the Oxford College of Petroleum and Energy Studies in England.
Daniela Manique has been with the Solvay Group for 19 years, starting her professional career at Rhodia, later acquired by Solvay in 2011. During this period, she has held leadership positions in various areas of the company in Brazil and abroad.
In addition to her position at Abiquim, Daniela Manique holds positions on the boards of companies in the industrial sector and was recently awarded the Commander of the Order of the Crown of Belgium.
With a pioneering role in promoting the presence of women in leadership in the chemical industry in the region, Daniela Manique has led the company's efforts to advance competitiveness, innovation, ESG, and corporate social responsibility programs.
