VP Procurement Transformation Americas (F/M/X)

About the role:

The VP Procurement Transformation - Americas will be responsible for leading all sourcing and tactical procurement activities across North and South America, excluding energy and raw materials, in alignment with Solvay’s global procurement strategies and governance. Reporting directly to the Chief Procurement Officer, this role will play a critical part in optimizing procurement operations, driving sustainable value, and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction across the region.

As a key member of Solvay’s Global Procurement Leadership Team, you will lead a high-performing team of ~20 category and site procurement managers, responsible for managing a spend of approximately $900 million. The role requires a strategic leader capable of driving efficiency, cost savings, and continuous improvement while also fostering collaboration across functions and geographies.

You will be accountable for:

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and execute procurement strategies for the Americas region that align with Solvay’s global goals, emphasizing value creation, risk mitigation, sustainability, and innovation.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and inspire a regional team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Mentor, coach, and develop talent across multiple sites in North and South America.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Serve as the key contact for site managers and business leaders within the region.
    • Ensure that procurement services and processes meet or exceed stakeholder expectations and business requirements.
  • Value creation and Spend Management:
    • Drive spend review challenges (SRCs) and initiatives to optimize spend at the sites, ensuring alignment with category strategies and global procurement governance.
    • Identify and implement cost savings, cash flow improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Oversee the implementation of risk mitigation plans ensuring efficient procurement operations.
  • Performance Management:
    • Monitor and manage procurement performance through KPIs related to value creation, sustainability, and operational efficiency.
    • Implement corrective actions, in strong collaborations with the Global Process owners, needed to meet business objectives.
  • Governance and Compliance:
    • Ensure the correct application of procurement processes and policies across all sites within the region.
    • Drive adherence to appropriate buying channels and compliance with procurement governance.

About you:

  • Masters degree in supply chain, business, or a related field is required; an MBA degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in procurement leadership, with a focus on sourcing, category management, and operational procurement in a complex, global organization.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes and strategies, including cost savings initiatives, supplier management, and risk mitigation.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams across multiple geographies.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions and levels.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and driving measurable results.
  • Excellent understanding of supply chain management, procurement technologies, and sustainability initiatives.

About the pay and benefits:

  • Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the primary country base pay (United States) reasonably expected for this role is USD 167,720.00 to USD 203,400.00, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
